TOUR ITINERARY

Our first stop is the majestic Skógafoss waterfall, a local celebrity, that you might have seen on the popular Game of Thrones show. The waterfall is 60 meters tall and will leave you speechless. According to the local legend, there is some treasure hidden behind it, who knows, you might be lucky enough to find it.

Next up is Sólheimajökull glacier 11% of Iceland is covered by ice, and this particular one is an outlet glacier, connected to the fourth biggest glacier of the country, Mýrdalsjökull.

Next, we are traveling to the Reynisfjara black sand beach, which was once named as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the whole world. We believe, once you see this extraordinary area, you will understand why. The basalt columns, Reynisdrangar, situated next to the beach will amaze you as well. Furthermore, the guide will tell you about all the interesting stories and sagas that are connected to this place.

Vík í Mýrdal is the southernmost point in the country. This charming fishing village serves as the center of the region. We will visit the local church, which offers a great view of the whole settlement.

The day is still not over, our last stop will be the extremely popular Seljalandsfoss waterfall, which is located under the notorious Eyjafjallajökull volcano, which paralyzed Europe’s air traffic during its last eruption in 2010. If the conditions allow it, we walk behind a waterfall. We will also visit the nearby, hidden cousin, Gljúfrabúi, before heading back to Reykjavik.  something to enjoy. It was first opened in 1891 and is still a popular go-to place among the locals in the area. The temperature of the water is around 38-40° Celsius and this is the perfect way to end this great day.

Unforgettable trip to the south of Iceland.

A truly wonderful experience with our driver and guide Cris, who went full out to show us the itinerary and make it fun at the same time- that applies to teens as well as adults. The group was a good size and a magnificent mix of nationalities, so there was lots of good intercultural conversation with Cris and others in the group.
The black sand beach is a good distance from Reykjavic but well worth it, just a haunting place. Waterfalls and landscape out of this world. I'd like to do it all again.

Excellent

Our tour guide Matt was excellent. Best tour guide of our entire holiday - friendly, ridiculously knowledgeable & professional. He made us all at ease and at no point did I feel rushed. The other tours I went on were so rushed etc that this was a lovely change. The little bit of insider information about the “hidden” waterfall was amazing
We wouldn’t have ventured away from the one where you can walk around unless he told us to. Please go there it is amazing and to be honest even more breathtaking than the big one you walk under. Matt is excellent at his job, honestly the best tour guide we could have had for this trip. Thanks so much for everything- from the 2 girls from Ireland !

Highly Recommend !

FANTASTIC DAY!!! Thank you to our tour guide Chris - picked up promptly followed by an informative, chatty and lively tour guide who gave us lots of interesting facts about Iceland and took us to so many amazing locations. Felt we spent a good amount of time in every location and even got some time to have lunch and pet some Iceland ponies. Started at 8:30 and got back at bus stop 6 around 6pm. Would highly recommend this trip with this tour company too - we went on a different tour the next day with a different tour company but the host was not as lively as Holiday Tours guide!
