About the tour
Deildartunguhver
Reykholtsdalur is one of Iceland’s most popular places to see hot springs, along with the Geysir Geothermal Area, the Highlands, the Reykjanes Peninsula, Reykjadalur Valley, and Námaskarð Pass. While each of these areas has its appeal, at no other does the water rise with such ferocity. The water at Deildartunguhver hot spring emerges at a constant 97 degrees Celsius (207 degrees Fahrenheit). The hot spring is the most powerful in Europe and around 180 liters per second of boiling hot water flows out of the ground.
Hraunfossar
Hraunfossar, known as the “Lava waterfalls”. A truly spectacular place where water runs down the Hallmundahraun lava field. The lava field that Hraunfossar trickles through flowed from an eruption of one of the volcanoes lying under the nearby glacier of Langjökull, the second largest ice cap in Iceland. The waterfalls pour into the Hvítá river from ledges of less porous rock in the lava.
Barnafoss
Just a short walk away is Barnafoss, the “Waterfall of the children”. The waterfall came to its name when two children tried to cross the river and fell to their deaths. Barnafoss is a magical site in and of itself, twisting, turning, foaming, and churning as it races down a narrow valley, from which you can view it from above. It is even more fantastical, due to its contrast with Hraunfossar.
Húsafell Canyon Bath
The Húsafell Canyon Baths provide a wonderfully solitary and remote setting to enjoy the splendor of the highlands. There is no experience more authentically Icelandic than hiking through the surreal landscapes of the highlands followed by a relaxing soak in a geothermal pool. The Húsafell locals who undertook the Canyon Baths project went to great lengths to keep the entire structure as environmentally unobtrusive, sustainable, and true to the area’s heritage as possible. Choose from three geothermal pools of varying temperatures, 30-41°C (86-105°F), plus a cold-water spring at 10°C (50°F), each with a spectacular view of the surrounding canyon, mountains, and glaciers.

EXCELLENT Based on 1892 reviews Posted on Tripadvisor Dóra OVerified This company doesn't exists??? We planned a full day Golden Circle trip with Holdiay Tours for 1 March 2026. We purchased the tickets back in november. A couple of days before the tour we sent multiple emails to the company, because we had some questions regarding the trip. We didn't recieve any answer so one day before the trip we tried to call them. It said that the phone number is not avaliable/shut down/does not exists. We called the third party we used to book the tour, they couldn't reach them either, but they said that the tour will definitely happen. Well it didn't. We waited for the bus for an hour and it never showed up. The company was unreachable. Luckily we were able to reorganize the trip through the third party with a different company but it would have been devastating if this trip was planned on the last day of our stay in Iceland or if we booked the tour directly through Holiday Tours.Posted on Tripadvisor Eleanor LVerified Great day in Iceland Michal was our guide for the day and made the whole experience really enjoyable from start to finish. The waterfalls and black sand beach were incredible, and the scenery throughout the day was honestly some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. We were lucky with clear skies and sunshine, but it was still very cold — definitely bring good layers. The glacier hike was a real highlight. Michal’s knowledge of the area and the science behind it all made it even more interesting, and it never felt like he was just reading from a script. The hike wasn't challenging for us but the conditions definitely helped, we will likely come back and book a more challenging hike but a great experience. Overall, an amazing day and a great way to see some of Iceland’s most famous spots — I’d definitely recommend it. If you’re unsure about booking because of the length of the day (I was at first), don’t be put off. The minivan is comfortable, clean and warm, there are plenty of stops, and the time goes quickly.Posted on Tripadvisor Sara AVerified Great first glacier hike and tour Fantastic day - very well organised with the handover to the hike. The team at Base camp were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and our guide Yan gave clear instruction throughout the hike. The main coach driver and guide were super helpful, giving a little insight to various sights along the way. Would defo recommend. I travelled with my 12 year old who really enjoyed the day. Thank youPosted on Tripadvisor giandomenicoVerified Pessimo Tour cancellato con email senza motivazioni plausibili e senza possibilità di riprogrammare, servizio telefonico pessimo e poco chiaroPosted on Tripadvisor Phoebe GVerified An unforgettable glacier adventure Absolutely incredible glacier hike! Our tour guide, Mihail, was extremely knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor, which made the experience both informative and fun. The tour was definitely worth the money, we learned so much, felt safe the whole time, and the scenery was unreal. We saw so many beautiful waterfalls along the way that felt straight out of a postcard. Highly recommend this tour to anyone considering a glacier hike!Posted on Tripadvisor Helen CVerified Wonderful day Highly recommend this tour! A packed day full of awe-inspiring sights and an amazing experience walking on the glacier. Our guide and driver Carlos was great. His talks along the way were really informative and we could tell he wanted us to have a great day, making an impromptu stop for a beautiful sunset. He took great care with our safety and was very patient with differing readiness and understanding across the group. He is clearly passionate and knowledgeable about all that Iceland has to offer. Thank you Carlos!Posted on Tripadvisor ipek aVerified Perfect! Our tour was really good. And also our tour guide Evó was super cool, nice and informative! Takk;)Posted on Tripadvisor Meri VVerified Beautiful glacier I loved a lot the hike in the Glacier and I would like to spend more time there. But the glacier was really beautiful and ice has so many colors. Skogafoss waterfall was beautiful and it was nice to have time to get up to the top with over 400 stairs. Black sand beach waves were awesome. Only minus was that we couldn’t get to the beach to see rocks closer. Although the area was great. Our guide Weronica told us information about the attractions and Iceland.Posted on Tripadvisor 安婷 鄭Verified Evó is a fantastic guide 🫶 Evó Is the best guide I've ever met. Thank you for giving us a wonderful day 💖Posted on Tripadvisor Matthew FVerified Bucket list glacier hike and beautiful waterfalls Best day trip that you can do in Iceland, my wife and I both loved to whole day and we had the best tour guide (Weronika). Bucket list item ticked off.
