About the tour

Drive along southwestern stretch of the ring road leading from Reykjavik along volcanoes, waterfalls, and glaciers to the black sand beach and Icleand’s southern most town, Vík. The tour starts with a drive through the Hellisheiði mountain pass bringing you through moss covered lava fields and past geothermal springs down to farmland along the coastline.

On clear days, Hekla, the infamous Eyjafjalljökull volcanoes along with the Westman-Islands can be seen rising in the distance as you approach the Solheimajökull Glacier, a photographers delight and the first stop on the tour. The next destination is the otherworldly black beach known as Reynisfjara where the waves of the Atlantic Ocean crash upon the black sands from which the seemingly man-made hexagonal basalt columns rise to cliffs filled with nesting sea birds. After taking in your fill of the amazing geological formations, the tour will continue onto the small village of Vík with a church upon a hill overlooking three volcanic stone columns, said to be trolls turned to stone along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

After Vík, the trip back towards Reykjavik will take you to the powerful Skógafoss waterfall where a short walk up a flight of stairs will reveal one of Iceland´s most scenic views. From here we will head to the final stop, the 60 meter high Seljalandsfoss Waterfall famous for the hidden pathway leading behind and around this stunning sight. With some luck and sunny weather conditions, rainbows may add to the spectacular experience at each waterfall.

The Aurora is both wonderfully mysterious and magical, and once seen never forgotten. Simply put, nothing says “Icelandic Winter” like the idea of hunting for the Northern Lights. The result of powerful solar storms, the Northern Lights need clear winter skies to be visible. Rest assured, our expert operational team has decades of experience analyzing weather patterns. We carefully review on a daily basis the cloud forecast and the Northern Lights forecast. We never set off unless we think we have a good chance of spotting them, meaning we have a high success rate.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

We are working with Iceland´s most talented Northern lights hunters to find the best places every night.

It is never a guaranteed that we will see northern lights, however, we do our best to maximize our chances by picking the best locations.

Since it is never guaranteed to see aurora, we will make sure you get the chance to see them. In the event of a unsuccessful hunt, we offer you the chance to re-book as many times as needed until you partake in a successful northern lights hunt. You can continue to do this within a 2 year period of going on the first hunt.

If the Northern Lights portion of this tour is canceled due to weather and you don’t have an opportunity to participate in a subsequent tour, the northern lights portion of the tour will be refunded.

Hunting Northern lights My favorite part was that our guide was very passionate about the northern lights. We went to different places to hunt for the northern lights. I think our guide's name was Thomas (sorry can't remember). However, even when the northern lights wasn't visible to the naked eye, he would tell us to try to take a pic of the skies and see if there were any. Fortunately, there was. The main part was that he was willing to stop and wait for a full blown northern lights where you're able to see it. I call that dedication. Thank you very much for the experience.

Icelandic folklore, seals, and more nice things! We did this tour with Matej as our guide and it was super pleasant! He was super friendly, giving us the time we needed to take pictures and so on, and most importantly, he gave us so many stories and information about all the places we've been to! I highly appreciated it to know a little bit about the Icelandic culture, history of the land we were passing through. It was very interesting really! Snaefellsnes was nice to discover, I was curious about that part of Iceland because I have never been to or heard about it but it's very lovely and the last stop was in ytri tunga, a beach with seals and it was incredible to see those beauties from that close in the middle of their natural habitat! I highly recommend this tour and traveling in particular with this company, that made us feel very confortable!

Great experience, recommend it! I did this tour mid of June and I absolutely loved it. We heard some agencies were canceling tours so we were a bit afraid for our holidays but this one is guaranteeing departures with no minimum passengers so it was perfect. The guide was super nice and interesting. The Golden Circle is a must see if you can to Iceland and the Secret Lagoon was the cherry on the cake, very authentic (more than the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon for instance). I highly recommend you to take this tour when coming here with this agency!!!

Brilliant What a brilliant tour! Chris our guide was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. The stops were beyond what photos can convey, every stop we made was incredible! Some put of this world scenery. Lovely to be able to do some nice walks whilst on a multi stop tour as well. There was just one other couple on the tour so it was almost like a private day trip! Can't recommend enough, go for it!

A great day visiting the Golden Circle I have taken this tour a number of times bu Lisa did a nice job of adding little extras taht I enjoyed like stopping for Icecream and visiting the Tomato Farm. Next time I would try to have lunch at the tomato farm so for those looking to go-see if that can be arranged. We had an amazing day and are thrilled we went.
